Mustang Mk. IV LööKplus 1:48 - an Eduard add-on set

This is not a kit but an add-on set. It belongs to the LööKplus range, that is, to the combined accessory packages that bring several features raising the detail of the cockpit together in a single box. The aim is to get the interior to a level that hand painting small parts would take a long time to reach. The make-up of the package and the number of parts are stated on the box.

The real subject

Mustang Mk. IV is the British designation of the late single-seat version of the North American Mustang fighter in British service. It was an aircraft with a bubble canopy and excellent range, thanks to which it could escort formations over long distances. The bubble canopy also means that the cockpit is clearly visible from several sides on a finished model, which is why a detail set pays off more on this subject than on aircraft with an enclosed cockpit.

Usage tips

First test the parts dry in their intended place; with this kind of accessory part of the original kit plastic often has to be cut away. Wash the resin and printed parts in lukewarm water with detergent so that the mold release residue disappears, as without that the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw, do not snap them. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue; cement for plastic does not work here. Pre-painted features are not repainted, it is enough to even the sheen out. Fit and finish the whole interior before you close the fuselage up.
