This is neither a kit nor an accessory for a model but equipment for the modeling workplace, an enclosed display case module in a larger version. It belongs to the modular workshop line of AMMO of Mig Jimenez, which consists of elements that follow on from one another. The inner dimensions, the material and the way it opens are stated on the box; compare them before buying with the particular model you want to display.
A finished model has two enemies: dust and visitors' hands. Dust does not settle on a model evenly but clings to edges, to engraved lines and to matte surfaces, that is precisely where you put in the most work, and it can only be removed with a soft brush or compressed air, which with thin antennas and photo-etched parts risks damage every time. The improvised solution tends to be a plastic bag or a box, but those hide the model and the point of displaying it falls away. An enclosed display case is a compromise that holds both: the model is visible and at the same time nothing touches it.
It pays to keep an eye on three things. Direct sunlight fades paints and decals faster than you expect, so place the case away from a window. An enclosed space ventilates less well, so put a model in only when it is thoroughly cured, not a few hours after clear coating, as residual solvent otherwise condenses on the walls. And when cleaning the case, reach for a dry or only slightly damp cloth; aggressive cleaners fog and scratch transparent surfaces.
