Replacement blades No. 4 for modeling scalpels, 10 pieces

A chisel blade from Amazing Art with a straight edge across the body. The No. 4 cuts neither with a point nor with a curve, but with the whole width of the edge, much like a woodworking chisel. It suits places where you need to take material off flat and do not want to cut into the surroundings. The number 4 is stamped in the metal and the package holds ten pieces.

Use

• Scraping off ejector pin marks and flash from the mold parting line.
• Paring the remains of a sprue gate flush, so no stub is left on the part.
• Removing dried glue and putty in corners and on edges.
• Carefully separating parts that are glued only over an area.
• Leveling a filled seam flush before sanding.

Who the blades are for

For modelers who clean castings up and do not want to use pointed blades for it: those cut in when pressed against a surface and leave a groove. Lead a chisel blade tilted at a shallow angle and take the material off in thin layers. On a larger area alternate the direction, so an even surface is produced without steps. The edge is short and stiff, so it takes more pressure than a point, but even so a blunt chisel will slide off the spot and scratch the surroundings, so change the blades in good time. With a deeper ejector pin mark take the material off only as far as the edges of the depression and fill the rest with putty; paring it flush would thin the whole wall of the part down.

Safety note: a wide edge slices over its full width. Never push against the hand that is holding the part, put used blades away in a closed container and keep the package out of the reach of children.
