No6 EARTH YELLOW

AK interactive No6 Earth Yellow — acrylic modeling paint, 17 ml

A water-based acrylic paint from the AFV Series modeling range by the Spanish manufacturer AK interactive. The Earth Yellow shade with the sequence number 6 comes from the numbered system of camouflage colors of the US Army and the Marine Corps, which were used in the Second World War to break up the outline of vehicles. It is an ocher yellow earth tone, muted and without a green cast. The paint comes in a 17 ml bottle and dries to the matte finish you expect on military vehicles.

Use

• It is applied with a brush and with an airbrush alike; for an airbrush it is thinned with water or with the acrylic thinner of the same manufacturer.
• Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles to the bottom when it stands for a while.
• The best coverage comes from two or three thin coats on a degreased surface treated with a primer.
• In the numbered American system this shade forms the lighter component of a camouflage scheme, and it goes well with the earth brown and red brown tones of the same range.
• Do not thin this water-based acrylic with lacquer (cellulose) or enamel thinners; the chemistries do not get along.

Who the paint is for

For modelers of American vehicles of the Second World War who want to build them in disruptive camouflage instead of a single-color olive finish. It also comes into its own on dioramas and figure work, where a muted ocher earth tone is needed. The water base makes for comfortable work with a brush and an airbrush alike, without the smell of aggressive thinners.

The paint is intended for modeling use. Keep it out of the reach of children, do not swallow it, and when spraying make sure of adequate ventilation and respiratory protection. Close the bottle carefully after use and protect it from frost.
