No8 EARTH RED

AK interactive No8 Earth Red — modeling acrylic paint, 17 ml

A water-based acrylic paint from the AFV Series modeling line by the Spanish maker AK interactive. The Earth Red shade with the serial number 8 belongs to the numbered system of camouflage colors of the US Army and Marine Corps of the Second World War period. It is a muted reddish brown which looks neither saturated nor brick-like, but rather like the natural color of weathered earth. The paint comes in a bottle of 17 ml and once dry it leaves a matte surface suited to scale military equipment.

Use

• It is applied with a brush as well as an airbrush; for the airbrush it is thinned with water or with acrylic thinner from the same maker.
• Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles at the bottom when it stands for a while.
• You will get the best coverage in two or three thin coats on a degreased base treated with a primer.
• The reddish-brown tone also proves itself as an underpainting for rusty areas and as a supplementary shade when mixing mud effects.
• Do not thin a water-based acrylic with lacquer or enamel thinners, as the two chemistries do not go together.

Who the paint is for

For modelers of American Second World War equipment who build vehicles in multicolor camouflage. It will also serve diorama builders well as an earthy tone for terrain, bricks or weathered wood, and modelers who mix their own shades of mud. A water base means easy cleaning of tools and work without aggressive solvents.

The paint is intended for modeling use. Keep it out of the reach of children, do not swallow it and make sure there is enough ventilation and respiratory protection when spraying. Close the bottle carefully after use and protect it from frost.
