A modeling knife with a ring handle

This knife is not held like a pencil. The handle is a ring that slips onto a finger, so the hand presses with the whole palm and the fingers stay free to guide the cut. The advantage is a better view of the point and less fatigue during long work, because the knife does not have to be gripped all the time. The cutting part is a classic modeling blade for a size 1 handle, that is, the same system used by the ordinary scalpels of this brand. There are two blades in the package.

Use

• It suits cleaning parts up, trimming flash and cutting paper, card, film and thin plastic.
• Fit the ring so that the blade points along the axis of the index finger, otherwise the cut wanders.
• Cut in several light passes, not in one heavy one, and the material will not tear.
• Replace a blunt blade at once; a blunt point slips and is more dangerous than a sharp one.
• Always put a cutting mat under the cut, so that the point of the blade does not snap off against a hard table.

Who it is for

The knife will be appreciated by modelers and artists who work for long stretches at a time and whose fingers are strained by a classic handle. It is used just like an ordinary scalpel, only with a different grip, so you get used to it in a moment. It also suits being a second knife alongside a classic handle, so that the blade does not have to be changed all the time.

The blade is very sharp. Guide the cut away from your body, put the knife down so that it cannot fall point downward, dispose of used blades in a closed container and keep the whole thing out of the reach of children.
