A bush as an element of landscape in its own right

The coarser version of foliage differs from the fine one in the size as well as the shape of the clumps. While a fine grain spreads out over an area, these bulkier clumps hold their shape and stand up on terrain as a single bush, a dense hedge or a group of self-seeded trees by a wall. The olive shade at the same time takes freshness away from the whole, which suits a dry landscape, dusty roads and views from the end of summer.

Volume that can be shaped

The material can be used in two ways. Either a piece roughly the size of the intended bush is torn off and glued on whole, which quickly creates a whole group of greenery, or it is crumbled into smaller parts and laid in layers around a wire frame, where it gives a more faithful shape with visible branches. Both ways stand up to the later addition of a darker or a lighter tone. According to the manufacturer the content will do for 353 cm², which with bushes standing on their own means a numerous group rather than a continuous area, since the material is used up into height.

Seating it in a scene

The base of a bush is dipped into thicker glue and pressed onto the terrain until it holds by itself. Around the foot it then pays off to add a little fine material, so that the transition between the bush and the ground is not sharp; nothing in nature begins with a line. A finished growth stands up to misting with thinned paint, with which the shade is unified, and to dusting with powder pigment, which by a road creates the impression of settled dust. The material is independent of scale, and only the size of the piece a modeler tears off changes.
