An add-on set from Bandai from the modular science fiction range 30 Minutes Missions. It holds additional armor parts in a dark brown form that turn the basic Rabiot machine into a variant equipped for an attack on a fortified position. The robot itself is not in the package; the set is fitted to a model you already have built.

How it works

The additional armor is attached to the basic machine through the uniform joints the whole range uses. The parts snap on, and they can be taken off and put back, so one figure can be turned into several different machines according to your mood. The dark brown shade is an advantage for ground and field scenes, where it goes with the ordinary khaki and olive basic machines. The color is in the plastic, so the set is usable immediately after assembly.

Building and painting tips

On large flat armor panels it pays to check and clean up the parting lines, because on dark plastic a burr shows more than on light. If you are planning weathering, leave the dark brown as the ground and work rather with dust pigments and a dry brush in a lighter shade, which emphasizes the edges. We recommend painting the whole set over only with a primer, as otherwise acrylic on hard smooth plastic cracks in the places where the armor comes apart. Leave the joints you want to take apart free of any finish.
