OPTIONAL ARMOR SPECIAL OPERATION (FOR RABIOT, YELLOW)

Option Armor for Special Operations, Rabiot, yellow, Bandai

A set of add-on armor parts from the Japanese brand Bandai, from the modular science-fiction 30 Minutes Missions line. It is not a stand-alone robot model but an extension that is slipped and snapped onto an already built basic Rabiot machine. The parts are rendered in yellow and create a version in special-operations equipment.

How it works

The whole 30 Minutes Missions line is built on standardized joints. The basic machine has points on the torso, the limbs and the weapon into which the add-on panels snap, so one figure can be re-armed in a moment and returned to its original form just as fast. The parts can also be combined across the individual sets, which is the main reason the accessories are sold separately. The color is part of the plastic, so the set is usable even without painting.

Building and painting tips

Clip the parts off with an overlap and clean the gate up with a knife, otherwise a white mark is left on the colored plastic. The joints are designed for repeated dismantling, so do not glue them over needlessly. If you want to match the armor to your own finish, degrease the plastic first and spray it with primer, otherwise acrylic takes badly on the smooth surface and rubs off on the edges. Combining matte armor with a semi-gloss basic machine is a simple way to give the assembly depth without complicated weathering.

Who the set is for

• Owners of the Rabiot model who want to vary the machine without another kit.
• Builders of modular science-fiction assemblies, where parts are freely combined.
• Modelers looking for a compact way to extend a collection.
• Kitbashers who put together their own versions of the machines.

This is a supplementary set, not a complete model. The basic machine, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
