A mixer for modeling paints and compounds from the Amazing Art brand serves for stirring paint through in a bottle and for mixing modeling putties and pastes. It is neither a paint nor a thinner, but an aid for preparing material.
Responsibility details are not available.
An aid for stirring paint through directly in a bottle and for mixing modeling compounds, that is putties, pastes and pigment blends. Modeling paint separates while it stands: the pigment and the matting agent sink to the bottom and the binder stays on top. Shaking alone often does not dissolve that cake at the bottom, so what comes out of the bottle is paint with a different shade and a different sheen from the one it is meant to have. Stirring right down to the bottom is therefore as important with modeling paints as correct thinning.
For anyone who paints with bottled paints or works with putties and pigments. It saves time against improvising with a toothpick, which breaks and releases fibers into the paint. It pays to keep one mixer for paints and a second for putties, so the materials are not carried across. A second advantage of thorough stirring is cleanliness of work: properly stirred paint thins better and clogs the nozzle less while spraying.
When cleaning, use the thinner prescribed by the maker of the paint in question and work in a ventilated space. Do not pour the residue of paints and thinners down the drain.
