Fluor Blue is a loose modeling pigment in a fluorescent blue from the Spanish brand AMMO of Mig Jimenez. It does not belong among the earthy dusts and rusts that most modelers associate with pigments – this shade is here to create a distinct signal of color on a model.

What the pigment is and what it is not

A pigment is a powder, not a liquid preparation. It is not worked like a wash, which runs into the recesses, nor like a filter, which shifts the tone of a whole surface. Neither is it an opaque paint – it does not suit the basic painting of large surfaces and its strength lies in a fine application on chosen places. • Loose excess can be wiped off a smooth surface with a clean brush.
