PLA DARK BLUE

AK interactive PLA Dark Blue — modeling acrylic paint, 17 ml

A water-based acrylic paint from the AFV Series modeling line by the Spanish maker AK interactive. The PLA Dark Blue shade is a saturated dark blue with a grayish undertone. The maker places it among the colors of the PLA Marine Corps and airborne units, where dark blues form the darkest component of digital camouflage patterns. The paint comes in a bottle with a volume of 17 ml and once dry it leaves a matte surface, which looks natural on scale equipment and figures alike. The abbreviation PLA in the name refers to the People's Liberation Army, whose color schemes the maker follows in this group of shades.

Use

• It is applied with a brush as well as an airbrush; for the airbrush it is thinned with water or with acrylic thinner from the same maker.
• Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles at the bottom when it stands for a while.
• You will get the best coverage in two or three thin coats on a degreased base treated with a primer.
• Apply the darkest component of a pattern over a lighter base, as the transitions then look more natural and you do not have to cover large areas.
• Do not thin a water-based acrylic with lacquer or enamel thinners, as the two chemistries do not go together.
