Narrow Artwox Model wooden strips 1.2 mm wide will cover small deck areas, hatch covers and the floorboards of boats.

The narrow variant of the material from Artwox Model carries the dimension 1.2 mm and a self-adhesive finish according to the name. It is a stock for laying by hand, not a finished deck cut for one particular hull. It comes into its own mainly where the work is on a small area and where a coarser dimension would look disproportionately massive.
Besides the main deck a sailing ship usually has a number of smaller places that call for a solution of their own: hatch covers, steps, gangways or the floorboards of boats. It is exactly these details that the viewer takes in up close, and a plastic surface gives itself away there fastest. A narrow dimension is moreover the only sensible choice in places where two wide rows simply would not fit.
Try the layout dry on a paper copy of the area first. Lay the rows so that the ends of neighboring rows do not finish above one another, otherwise a conspicuous transverse line appears. Once it is finished, a light press with a smooth tool helps to level the edges and bring out the division between the rows. Small gaps can be filled with a piece of offcut; they disappear into the finished surface anyway.
