Self-adhesive Artwox Model deck strips 1.4 mm wide are intended for careful planking of smaller ship models.
Responsibility details are not available.
According to the name this material from Artwox Model is 1.4 mm wide and has a self-adhesive finish. It belongs among the finer variants of the range on offer and suits places where the grain is to be small and calm. It is sold as a stock of strips, not as a ready-made deck shape, so you determine the width and the length of the individual rows yourself according to the hull under construction.
Real decks were not laid from the edge but from the fore-and-aft centerline. A thicker central item lay in the middle and the rows ran out from it symmetrically to both sides. When you carry this principle over to a model, you get a natural picture even in the places where the rows converge toward the bow. All you need is to draw the centerline in with a thin pencil and lay the first strip exactly along it.
Fine strips are flexible and buckle easily, so hold them at both ends and lower them to the surface gradually. On curved edges rather shorten the strip and follow on with a new piece than bend it by force. The edges are trimmed with a lightly run blade, so that the grain is not torn out. Change the blade more often than you would like; a blunt edge crushes wood rather than parting it.
