A foursome of loose shades with which seed heads and color transitions are added to a finished grassy area. They accent the rises and deepen the shadow in the hollows instead.

A real meadow never has one color. Dried-out ridges break into golden and straw tones, deeper places stay dark green and between them the faded seed heads show through toward red. It is precisely this unevenness that is supplied by the foursome of shades Golden, Wheat, Shadow Green and Red Switch, which the manufacturer has added to its system of grassy areas.
The material is scattered onto a finished area in small doses. The light tones belong on raised places, where the sun shines most, while the dark green one belongs in hollows and at the foot of buildings, where grass would stay in shadow. The red tone is used most sparingly, as a hint of ripened grasses scattered across the area. The result is growth that has depth, even though the base underneath it is still the same.
The greatest difference shows on large areas of fields, pastures and embankments, where a uniform shade looks artificial at first glance. On a small area around a vehicle a few doses at the edges are enough. The shades can be combined with each other and with your own scatters, so they also suit touching up the color of an area that has stood on a layout or a diorama for years.
The material is fixed with ordinary thin glue or varnish, in the way you are used to with other loose materials. You make the difference between a spring and a late summer area purely by the ratio of the shades, without reaching for a different growth. It is recommended to work in layers and to let the area dry between them, because damp growth takes a further dose less well and the colors run together.
