Plastic CLEAR Square Hollow Base 25mm

Clear square base 25 mm with a hollow underside

This is a base for a model, not the model itself. The base is square, 25 mm to a side, made of clear plastic and hollow underneath. Clear plastic suits everywhere you do not want the base to be seen: with figures standing in a lit scene, with flying or hovering models and in display cases where the model is meant to stand out, not the thing it stands on. The hollow underside gives room to hide a weight or a magnet, so the model holds better and does not tip over.

Use

• Glue a magnet or a small weight into the hollow lower part; the center of gravity drops and the model will be more stable
• Glue clear plastic with cyanoacrylate carefully, because the fumes can fog it; a cement for plastics intended for transparent parts is safer
• Anyone who wants to leave the base clear should neither sand it nor coat it with matte varnish, or it will go dull
• When on the contrary the base is meant to merge with the surface under it, spray it over in the same shade as the scene
• Degrease the surface before gluing; on smooth plastic the joint will not hold otherwise

Who the base is for

It suits a modeler of figures and a tabletop gamer who wants a uniform base in a standard square size, and equally a modeler who is building a small model and needs to seat it stably. It also comes into its own wherever the base is meant to be seen as little as possible. Anyone looking instead for a bold decorative base for a display case will reach rather for a wooden or themed one.

This is an accessory for displaying a model. The figure, the model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
