AMMO PLW Blue Grey (Panel Line Wash) - an Enamel Panel Line Wash, 35 ml

A ready-made enamel (solvent-based) wash from AMMO for picking out panel lines and engraved detail. The thin liquid flows by capillary action into grooves and seams, runs around rivets and hatches and creates a fine shadow in them. The excess is wiped off the smooth areas, so the tone stays only in the recesses.

Use

  • The blue-gray shade is intended for light blue and gray areas, where it creates a cool, unobtrusive shadow matching the character of the surface.
  • Applied with a brush straight into the engraved lines, where it flows by capillary action on its own.
  • Once dry, the excess is wiped away with a cloth or a brush dampened in odorless thinner for enamel paints (mineral spirits).
  • Suitable for ships, military vehicles, trains and sci-fi subjects as well.

For modelers who want to pick out panel lines faithfully on light blue and gray camouflage without mixing a wash of their own.

It contains solvents and is flammable. Use in a well-ventilated area and keep out of the reach of children.

FAQ

It is applied with a brush along engraved lines and seams, where it flows in by capillary action and picks them out. Once dry, the excess is wiped off the surfaces with a cloth or a brush dampened in odorless thinner, so the shadow stays only in the recesses.

It is an enamel (solvent-based) wash. It is thinned and removed with odorless thinner for enamel paints (mineral spirits), not with water.

Ideally a smooth matte or semi-gloss surface protected by varnish, or acrylic paint. Do not apply it to fresh enamel, as the solvent could attack it.

The blue-gray tone is tuned for light blue and gray areas (RLM 76 and 78, for example). The shade of a wash is generally chosen to match the color of the surface.
