Precision modeling scissors differ from ordinary ones in their slimmer jaws and shorter cut, so they reach even where large scissors have no room. They suit cutting individual items out of decal sheets, dividing masking tape and film, thin paper and plastic sheets and dividing threads and cord for rigging. A straight, clean cut means less work: the edge then does not have to be evened up with a file or abrasive paper.
Lead the material as close to the joint as possible, as that is where the scissors have the most force and open the least; leave the tip for finishing the cut and for small interventions. Cut smoothly, without twisting, otherwise a thin sheet will ripple. Do not use the scissors on hard materials such as wire or a metal fret, as the edge will chip and the precision is then gone for good. Keep the jaws dry and clean; after working with decals or glue, wipe them so that dried residue does not keep them from closing. Store the scissors so that the edge rests on nothing.
The scissors are supplied on their own. Other tools, materials and kits are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
