A flat strip 0.38 x 1.0 millimeters in white polystyrene. A small section for strips, edging and fine stiffeners.
Responsibility details are not available.
Just under four tenths of a millimeter across a width of one millimeter gives a strip that reads on the model as a thin line rather than as an added bar. It is used where a surface is to gain some articulation without the element pushing itself forward: on edging, cover strips, fine stiffeners and the suggestion of joints.
The strip is thin enough to be bent over a curved surface without heating, and once glued down it follows the shape beneath it. Cut it with a single pass of a sharp knife against a straightedge; scissors would crush the edge. Glue it with liquid cement applied to the edge of the part already in place, and capillary action will draw it into the joint.
On longer runs tack the strip down at both ends first and only then add cement along its length, otherwise the material will ripple. One piece measures 35 centimeters and is sold singly.
The surface has to be degreased before painting. Any remaining release agent from production will show under gloss as islands of uncovered paint, which on a part this slender is visible above all along the edges.
