An L-shaped profile of 2.5 millimeters. An angle section with two legs meeting at a right angle.
Responsibility details are not available.
An L section is the simplest of the profile shapes and at the same time one of the most useful. It is laid onto an edge and stiffens it, frames an opening or suggests an angle of a real structure. Unlike a flat strip it has two faces at a right angle, so it seats onto an edge from both sides and the joint holds more firmly.
It is shortened by scoring both legs and snapping it. With an L profile it pays to run the groove first on the outer side of the corner, where the material is thickest. It is glued with a liquid cement applied into the inner corner, from where it is drawn under both legs.
When edging a longer side, tack the profile down at both ends first, check that it is straight and only then add the glue along its whole length. An angle glued all at once likes to lift in the middle, and the gap under it then shows. One piece measures 35 centimeters.
An angle is rewarding as a way of hiding a botched joint as well. If you did not manage to level the edge of two parts, a glued-on profile will cover it and at the same time look like a full structural element.
