Profil „U“ 1,5 mm

Evergreen U profile 1.5 mm

A white opaque polystyrene profile of U section 1.5 mm wide and 35 centimeters long. The section consists of a base and two perpendicular legs, so the profile by itself looks like a rolled beam or a channel. The material is the same as in plastic kits, so it is glued with ordinary cement for plastic and sands easily.

Use

• Frames, channels and guide rails in the interiors of vehicles and buildings.
• Stiffeners and trim that a kit does not contain.
• Building the elements of dioramas, ramps, walkways and fences.
• Channels into which a thinner profile or a wire can be slid.

Work tips

Cut the profile with a saw or a sharp knife and then square the edge up with a sanding block, otherwise the gap in the corner will not disappear. When joining it into a frame, apply the cement at a single point first, set the angle and only then run the cement along the whole length. Back a longer run with a ruler, so that you do not end up with a bowed frame. The cavity of the profile also suits hiding a wire or a pin.

If you are gluing a frame onto a finished model, protect the surrounding surface with masking tape. Cement that runs onto plastic leaves a matte mark that then has to be sanded away.

When cutting, work with a sharp knife on a cutting mat and do not breathe the sanding dust.
