Tamiya PS-40 Translucent Pink is a translucent pink lacquer spray of 100 ml for polycarbonate bodies. It does not cover, and the base coat decides the result.
Responsibility details are not available.
A translucent pink from the Tamiya PS line. It is not a covering paint but a tinting lacquer that lets light through and changes the color of whatever is underneath it. With no base you get only pink-tinted clear plastic. Chemically the line is a lacquer formulated for the polycarbonate bodies of radio-controlled models and it is not used on styrene plastic kits. The can holds 100 ml and it sprays directly, with no thinning.
For builders who want a strong, glossy scheme with depth, typically in the style of modified street cars or eye-catching racing liveries. It calls for patience and at least two more paints, a base one and a covering one, but the reward is a look that cannot be reached with an ordinary pink. Anyone who wants a simple quick repaint will reach for a covering shade instead.
Safety at work: a flammable aerosol under pressure. Work outdoors or in a well ventilated space with no open flame and no hot surfaces, with a respirator and eye protection. Spray from a distance of roughly 25 to 30 centimeters with a smooth stroke. Always make a test spray on scrap material, because with translucent shades the density cannot be reduced once it is on. Do not pierce or burn the can and do not expose it to temperatures above 40 degrees. Keep out of the reach of children.
