A gun camera for a model of the P-40 Warhawk fighter in 1:32 scale. A small accessory that replaces a coarser kit part.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for building the American P-40 Warhawk fighter in a large scale. It is a single element that offers crisper detail at the point of installation than can be molded on a part that small.
The gun camera was a small film camera linked to the weapon trigger. It started running the moment the pilot pressed the trigger and recorded where the rounds were aimed. It served for training and for verifying claimed results, because over the battlefield pilots easily believed a hit had landed. It was placed so that it pointed along the line of fire, that is into the weapon bay or into the leading edge of the wing, and from outside only a small window gave it away.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and carefully sand the remainder so that you do not touch the detail. Test the part dry in its seat, and if the kit provides its own element, remove that first and level the surface. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. If the material does not react to cement for polystyrene, rely on super glue applied with the tip of a pin. Finally brush the window with gloss varnish so that it looks like glass.
The package contains only the accessory described. The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
