A modeling paint in a sand brown shade, listed under the standard designation RAL 8031 F9. For an airbrush and for a brush alike.
Responsibility details are not available.
RAL is the German system of standardized shades, in which a color is defined by a number rather than by a verbal description. The designation RAL 8031 F9 therefore says which tone it is, regardless of how each brand names it. The name describes the shade as a German sand brown, that is, a warm brown tone with a distinct sandy cast, the kind that belongs on vehicles in a light terrain finish.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before work so that the pigment settled at the bottom is stirred in evenly. Apply in thin coats and let each one become tacky. A single heavy coat will fill the engraving and hide the detail you have taken such trouble to keep on the model. The thinner intended for this range and the thinning ratio are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging, separately for spraying and separately for the brush. Wash and degrease the surface of the model beforehand; the paint holds better on a cured primer coat than on bare smooth plastic.
It suits anywhere you need a light brown terrain tone: on vehicles, on artillery and on accessories in a scene. The shade goes well with pigments and washes, because a light base lets the shadows in the joints come through. Close the bottle with the remaining paint and store it at room temperature.
Thinner, primer, varnish and a model are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
