Round Brush 4

What kind of brush it is

A round brush of size 4. The round shape tapers to a point, so with one brush you can draw a thin line and cover a smaller area: you only change the pressure. Size 4 is a middle choice you can work with on most parts of a model without having to reach for a different brush after every stroke. The reservoir of hair holds more paint than a very thin brush takes, so a stroke does not have to be interrupted in the middle of an area.

What it is suited to

For painting parts that are not worth setting out for the airbrush, for painting in small things in a cockpit or on an engine, for applying a dark shade into the panel lines and for bringing edges out. It will find its use in work with oil paints as well, where the shades are blended right on the model. Load the paint only onto the tip and above all never right up to the ferrule: once the paint gets between the hair and the metal, the brush goes hard and you will never straighten the point again.

Care of the brush

• Never leave it standing in a jar; the hair bends and the shape does not come back.
• Wash it out right after work; dried paint at the ferrule will destroy the brush.
• After washing, straighten the point into shape with your fingers and let it dry.
• Store it hair upwards or lying flat, never point down.
• Keep an older brush for drybrushing and mixing paints; that work destroys the hair.

Terms of supply

The package contains the brush. Paints, thinner and a cleaning agent are not included unless stated otherwise. Choose the thinner according to the paint you are working with, and always wipe the brush dry after cleaning.
