Tamiya Sanding Sponge Sheet, 180 grit - sanding sponge

The Tamiya sanding sponge in 180 grit is a sheet of flexible sponge with aluminum oxide abrasive bonded to it. The flexible sponge conforms to the shape, so it easily sands rounded surfaces, edges and awkward corners that flat sandpaper cannot reach. The 180 grit is coarser and suits quicker removal of material - cleaning up flash, removing the remains of sprue attachment points and leveling coarser irregularities.

Use

• Cleaning up mold seams, flash and the marks left by cutting parts off the sprue
• Sanding and shaping rounded surfaces and edges, thanks to the flexibility of the sponge
• The sheet can be cut to the shape and size you need with a modeling knife
• Also suitable for wet sanding, for a finer surface
• After 180 grit, go on to finer grits for a smooth finish

Who it is for

For plastic modelers and for work with wood and metal. The coarser 180 grit suits the first, quicker stage of sanding before moving on to finer grits.
