A saturated sapphire blue shade from the acrylic line that AMMO of Mig Jimenez aims at painting figures and uniforms. It is a water-thinnable acrylic in a dropper bottle, usable just as well on plastic, photo-etch and resin. Saturated blue tones find a use in modeling on uniforms, ribbons and decorative items and, thinned down, as a color cast in the shadows of cool surfaces.
With saturated blues the stirring is what decides above all. The pigment settles in the bottle and badly stirred paint comes out pale and uneven, so shake the bottle thoroughly, for a minute if you like, and stir it again now and then during a longer session. The base has a great influence on the resulting tone: over a dark base the blue looks dark and deep, and over a light gray or white one its saturation comes out. If you need a brilliant shade, put a light base beneath it. And lay on three translucent coats rather than one heavy one; only that way will the surface stay smooth and the engraving legible.
For modelers of figures and historical uniforms, for builders of collector's models with striking color items and for anyone who mixes his own cool shadows.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use. Work in a ventilated space, use respiratory protection when spraying and keep the paint out of the reach of children.
