Mineshima Spatula Set TM5 is a set of modeling spatulas for working with filler and with modeling compounds, from applying the compound to shaping and texturing it.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of spatulas from the Japanese brand Mineshima for modeling work with compounds. While a brush only spreads the compound and a finger has a coarse feel for it, a spatula can work with it purposefully: pick it up, place it, press it down and smooth it exactly where needed, without touching the surrounding details.
Shaping and texture
With your own accessories made of modeling compound, the result is decided by the last stage, that is, the surface. A smooth surface looks unnatural on a sail, on a leather seat or on mud and immediately gives away that it is compound. With a spatula the surface can be layered, drawn into a fold, pulled up into an edge or, conversely, pressed into a hollow. The same tools then serve when cleaning excess filler around engraved lines, where the point is not to clog the line and not to wipe away the detail beside it.
Moisten the blade with water or with water and a drop of dish soap before work, or the compound will stick to it and you will pull it back with every stroke. Work in short layers and let the compound set partially; only then refine the fine texture, because compound that is too soft will not hold its shape. Clean the tools right after work, as dried compound is much harder to remove from the blade. Do not pry with a spatula; the thin blade is built for pressure across a surface.
For modelers who add their own elements of modeling compound to models and dioramas, and for figure painters who alter poses and accessories. It will also serve in the ordinary filling of seams on a kit.
The number of pieces in the set, their shapes, dimensions and material are stated on the box.
