This is a mechanical accessory for painting, not a paint and not a part of an airbrush. The grip clips onto the neck of an aerosol can and you then work the valve with a trigger in your palm instead of pressing with your index finger. The spray is smoother as a result, it is easier to keep a constant distance and speed of the stroke, and the hand does not tire so much on larger areas. The aid is reusable — once a can is empty you simply move it to the next one.

Use

• Fit the grip onto the neck of the can so that the trigger seats exactly on the valve.
• Shake the can thoroughly before work and test the spray away from the model first.
• Spray in a smooth stroke from a sensible distance, in several thin coats rather than one heavy one.
• After spraying, turn the can upside down and press briefly — that blows the paint out of the valve.
• Wipe the grip after use so that the trigger does not stick with dried paint.

Who it is for

For modelers who paint from cans — fillers, primers, top colors and final clear coats — and want more precise control of the flow. It makes most sense on larger areas, on long runs of spraying and wherever an even coat without streaks and runs is needed. A modeler whose finger hurts after longer spraying will appreciate it too.

Aerosol paints and varnishes are flammable. Work in a well ventilated space away from sources of fire, use a respirator and protect the surroundings from overspray. The grip itself changes nothing about the contents of the can or its maker's instructions.
