Spray-Work Basic from the manufacturer Tamiya is a starter set that combines a small portable air compressor and an airbrush with a nozzle 0.3 mm in diameter. It is an outfit you can start spraying with without having to sort out a compressor and an airbrush separately. Thanks to the 0.3 mm nozzle the airbrush is versatile: it manages both fine lines of around 1 mm and broad base coats. Two removable paint cups of approximately 17 ml and 40 ml are usually included, so you can choose the smaller or the larger reservoir according to the size of the job.

Use

• spraying models with an airbrush instead of a brush: even base coats, covering layers and finer transitions
• thinning paints to the right consistency for spraying (water-thinnable acrylic, enamel or lacquer with the appropriate thinner)
• setting a low air pressure for a clean, fine coat without overspray
• the smaller cup (about 17 ml) for detail and frequent color changes, the larger one (about 40 ml) for large areas
• flushing the airbrush with thinner or cleaner once the work is done so that the nozzle does not clog
