SQUARE MAGNET FOR BASES 25X25MM (77 units)

The twenty-five millimeter square that most games count on

The square with a twenty-five millimeter side has gone with tabletop games for decades. The infantry of historical formations stands on it, the rank and file of fantasy armies and the smaller monsters too, and it is with these that magnetizing pays off most, because a modeler paints the most of them and carries them most often. The pack offers seventy-seven pieces, so there is enough left for an ordinary unit even after the spare figures have been fitted out, and the supply lasts for several further additions to the formation.

The practical gain shows up in the first game. Sorting a company into formation takes a moment on a steel tray, the rank stays straight and nothing shifts while it is carried between tables. At home the figures then sit in their places in the box and do not have to be packed with foam, which sooner or later wears the paint off the raised parts.

How to glue it in

Degrease the bottom of the base, lay the square in place and only then reach for the glue. Cyanoacrylate holds at once, PVA wood glue gives more time to line things up. With bases whose inside has been filled, the square has to be glued on the outside, which raises the figure by a fraction of a millimeter; if you are building a whole unit, do it the same way on every piece so the rank keeps one height.

Do not throw the leftover pieces away. They will serve to hold small parts while painting or to hold a part-built figure on a metal holder. They also suit the bottom of a drawer with work in progress, where small components otherwise travel from place to place every time it is opened and in the end disappear altogether.
