Paint Forge Square Stencils L – a universal stencil with squares

A universal airbrush stencil from the brand Paint Forge out of the Stencils range with a square motif. It is offered in size L, to which according to the name a sheet of 14 x 20 cm corresponds, that is the larger of the pair of sizes available. It is not a mask cut for one particular kit but a freely usable pattern. The square is the basis for geometric camouflage, grids, grating and technical decor, and it is precisely with a regularly repeated shape that masking by hand falls apart fastest: it is enough for two squares not to be the same and it shows on a model.

Use

• Let the surface dry out properly and degrease it. Then lay the stencil on and fix it with masking tape.
• Spray perpendicular from above, at low pressure and in two or three thin coats. A heavy coat will seep under the edge and the corner of a square will be rounded off.
• Lay the grid out dry first. With a repeated pattern the regularity of the spacing decides more than the pass itself.
• Squares can be overlapped and turned, which gives a modern angular camouflage or pixel decor without any need to cut anything out.
• Once you finish spraying, clean the stencil before the paint has dried on it.

Who the stencil is for

It suits a modeler who does geometric patterns and technical decor: angular camouflage, grids, grating, panels and paving on the surfaces of dioramas, angular decor on science-fiction and fantasy models. A large sheet covers more area at once, so it suits larger scales, bases and scenery. Anyone who covers only small areas will reach for the M variant with its sheet of 14 x 9.8 cm.

It is an aid for painting, not a kit. Paints, an airbrush and masking tape are not included in the package. Ventilate while spraying and protect your airways.
