Static grass in a burnt shade from Woodland Scenics is fine synthetic fibers for creating dry, sun-scorched grassy areas on dioramas and on a model railroad.
Responsibility details are not available.
Static grass consists of fine synthetic fibers that are applied to an area coated with glue. Under the action of a static charge the fibers stand up on end, so the growth looks three-dimensional and not like flat scatter. The shade described as burnt grass matches the dry vegetation of late summer, of autumn and of places exposed to sun or drought.
A real meadow has neither one color nor one height. Apply the grass in layers and in irregular islands, leave the edges of roads and of the track thinned out and add small scatter or foliage among the growth. The burnt shade comes into its own as a transition between a green area and bare soil or as a dry strip along a verge. It is a good idea to fix the finished area with thinned PVA glue applied with a dropper, so that the fibers hold even when the model is handled.
Neither glue nor a static grass applicator is included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
