Stirring rod for paints and modeling masses is a stirring rod for paints, washes and modeling compounds.
Responsibility details are not available.
A simple aid that is missing from the bench only as long as one keeps stirring paint with the handle of a brush. The rod is intended for stirring paints and washes up in a bottle and for kneading modeling compounds - two-part putties, pastes and resin mixtures. Against an improvised brush it reaches all the way to the bottom of a bottle and wipes the settled pigment off the corner at the bottom as well, where most of it clings. The material and the length of the rod are not stated by the manufacturer.
For anyone who works with bottled paints or putties. It also suits places where mixing beads are of no use - in wide cups, with thick pastes and with mixtures that must not be shaken, so that bubbles do not get into them. With oil paints and with resins in particular that is the difference between a clean shade and a mixture full of air. The rod is also easy to clean, so a single one serves a whole row of shades.
After every use wipe the rod or rinse it in the matching thinner; dried paint then flakes off into the next bottle and shows up in the shade as foreign flakes. For acrylics and for solvent-based paints it is good to have two rods and not to mix them up. Ventilate when working with thinners and keep away from an open flame.
