Styrene strip 1.00 x 4.00 x 350 mm from AK interactive is a package of ten of the heaviest strips in this range, intended for girders, skeletons and stiffening large parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
A package of ten pieces of plastic strip of rectangular cross section 1.00 x 4.00 mm and a length of 350 mm. The material is polystyrene, that is, the plastic known from injection-molded kits: it cuts with a knife, glues with cement for models, sands, fills and paints. It is material for building, not a model nor a set of parts for a particular kit.
Of the sizes grouped here this is the most substantial cross section. A millimeter of thickness together with four millimeters of width gives a strip that does not bow even over a longer span and offers a large gluing area. It is used where a structure really has to carry something or hold the shape of a whole model.
A heavy strip is best divided with a saw with fine teeth, or scored with a knife halfway through and broken. Level the ends on abrasive paper; on load-bearing members squareness matters more than on surface detail. It is glued with thin cement for polystyrene, which melts and bonds the plastic; with a large cross section run the cement along the joint from both sides and give the joint time to cure before you load the structure. Degrease the strip before painting and go over it with a primer coat. Where plastic meets resin, photo-etched metal or wire, use super glue.
It is material for building, not a finished model. Glue, paints and tools are not included in the package.
