SW Legion Silhouette - Red

A silhouette for determining visibility - the red finish

A gaming aid from the Spanish brand Green Stuff World for tabletop battles with figures. Players know the term silhouette from the rules of a number of systems: visibility is determined not from the real outline of a model with all its projections but from a simplified shape that stands in for the volume of the unit. This aid puts such a shape beside the model on the table, so that an estimate becomes a measurable fact.

What it is for

• Deciding visibility between units through terrain, scenery and other models.
• Assessing partial cover.
• Agreeing the reading of a situation between players and a judge.
• The red finish reads well on light, desert and snow-covered terrain.

The classic color at a gaming table

Red is the most widespread color on gaming markers, which has both an advantage and a drawback. The advantage: it is intuitively readable and nobody asks what it means. The drawback: if you already use red markers on the table for another purpose, there is a risk of a mix-up, and in that case reach for the bright green or the orange variant of the same line. On light terrain, on the other hand, red is a better choice than bright shades, which visually dissolve on a white surface.

Who it is for

For players of tabletop battles with figures, for judges and for tournament organizers. The way visibility is determined is always set by the rules of the game you are playing, and the aid neither replaces nor changes them.

The exact dimensions, the material and the number of pieces in the package are stated on the packaging. This is not an official accessory to any rule system, but an aid from a maker of modeling accessories.
