A marker set for tools and weapons

A themed set from the PLAYMARKER range aimed at the gear and armament of figures. It therefore targets the parts that repeat across a model and are meanwhile awkward to paint with a brush: hafts, grips, blades, barrels, holsters and straps. The shades are put together as a whole around one theme, so they can be used side by side with no adjusting.

Why a marker suits this in particular

Weapons and tools are mostly narrow elongated shapes, and a tip runs over them more easily than a brush, because you can rest your hand on it. The color goes onto the figure directly, with no palette and no mixing, so a single spear or pick can be painted without opening up a pot for it. When the same weapon appears on ten figures, the marker gives the same shade every time.

How to work with the markers

• Try the shade first on an offcut of plastic.
• Paint the haft or the grip first and the metal part afterward; an overrun is then easier to correct.
• Lay on thin coats and let them dry; only then go over the area a second time if needed.
• Edges and blades can be gone over lightly with a lighter shade from the set once dry; the shape stands out that way.
• Wipe the tip from time to time, so that it does not carry paint from a part already painted.
• Look for the thinning, cleaning and clear-coat details on the packaging of the marker.

For players who are painting the gear of a whole unit, and for modelers who want to deal with small armament quickly and without a palette in progress. Before you start, degrease the figure with lukewarm water and dish soap and let it dry. A set of markers is supplied; figures and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
