Track Painter - Weathered Tie

Track Painter Weathered Tie - a paint pen for ties (Woodland Scenics)

Track Painter is an applicator in the shape of a pen with its own reservoir of paint, meant for weathering model track. The Weathered Tie shade matches the aged wood of ties and dries matte, so the track loses its glossy new look and fits in with the rest of the scenery in color. According to the manufacturer the package holds one applicator with approximately 10 ml of paint and a spare tip, thanks to which the width of the application can be matched to different sizes of track.

Use

• Painting can be done before the track is laid and afterwards, on plastic and metal parts of the track alike.
• Run the tip along the ties in a smooth stroke and wipe off any surplus paint so that it does not run into the joints.
• Clean the railhead and its inner edge once dry, so that electrical contact and smooth running are preserved.
• Let the application dry completely and only then add ballast to the scenery.
• Bring the result to life with a light touch of rust and dust on the rail feet and at the edges of the ballast bed.

Who it is for

For layout modelers who want to rid the track of its factory uniformity quickly and without an airbrush, and for builders of dioramas with a stretch of track. The pen is clean and precise, so it also suits short stretches and later repairs to scenery that is already finished.

Keep out of the reach of children, work in a well ventilated room and close the pen after use. Before working on a finished layout, try the shade out on an offcut of track.
