Tree Kit holds everything needed for making your own trees for a model landscape. It is not a finished tree and not a kit of a vehicle but a scenic set: pliable tree armatures, glue and foliage material of the Clump-Foliage type. You shape the crown yourself, so no two trees look the same and a planted area comes across naturally.
The manufacturer states that the material will do for 19 deciduous and 8 coniferous trees with a height of roughly 5 to 15 cm, that is for planting an area of around 120 by 240 cm. The armatures can be opened out into a crown, shortened to the height wanted and bent into a leaning shape, and the foliage material is fixed onto them with the glue enclosed.
First unwind the armature and bend the individual branches out to the sides, so that the crown does not come across as flat. It is a good idea to coat the trunk with acrylic paint in the shade of bark before the foliage and to bring it out lightly with a dry brush. Tear the foliage material into smaller tufts and glue them on gradually from the top down; less material looks more realistic than a dense ball. Combine the shades of the leaves quite happily and add fine scatter under a tree as undergrowth. Leave the conifers narrower and more pointed than the deciduous trees.
Paints for the trunks and supplementary scatter are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
