A spray from the TS lacquer line of the Japanese maker Tamiya in the Clear Orange shade. The package is an aerosol can of 100 ml, ready for immediate use with no thinning. It is a solvent-based lacquer in a spray, not a water-thinnable acrylic.

What it is and what it is not

Clear Orange is a transparent tinting color with no covering power. It does not serve to repaint an area fully but to tint the surface underneath orange, for example on marker lights, turn signals and tail lights, or to achieve an amber cast over a polished surface. Over a silver or chrome base it gives the impression of colored glass or of red-hot metal.

Use

• Spray in thin coats from a distance of about 20 to 30 cm; the depth grows with the number of coats
• It looks best over a smooth, glossy or metallic surface
• Shake the can thoroughly before use
• Work in a well-ventilated area, ideally with extraction
