Tensocrom is a range of toning filters and Earth is its earthy member. A filter differs from the other weathering products in what it does: it is laid on in a thin translucent layer over a finished spraying and changes the color tone of the whole area, not the look of the individual details.
A filter, a wash and a paneliner are not the same
These three products are regularly confused, yet each deals with a different task. A filter shifts the tone of a continuous area and leaves the surface legible. A wash is thicker, flows into recesses and brings out the shape. A paneliner is the thinnest, goes into engraved lines and draws the panel seams. So if you want an olive spraying to gain an earthy cast while staying olive, you reach for a filter, not for a wash.
For modelers of vehicles and dioramas who want the overall tone of a scene under control. Filters are laid on in several weak passes, with the surface left to rest between them, because the effect adds up and layering too quickly loads the area needlessly.
Stir the contents before use. Work in a ventilated space and keep out of the reach of children.
