The DSPIAE 3.0 mm tungsten steel drill bit is the heaviest diameter of the modeling range. It is used mainly for larger holes and for anchoring a finished model to a display base.
Responsibility details are not available.
A single diameter from the DSPIAE modeling range, according to the name intended for plastic models. Among the single diameters it marks the upper limit you usually meet in modeling practice.
For fine detailing you will not use this size, as it is far too coarse for that. It comes into play elsewhere: in larger holes in hulls and fuselages, in lightening thick plastic parts, in runs for wires and cabling in a diorama, and above all in anchoring a finished model. A hole of this diameter takes a pin on which the model stands safely in a display base or in flight attitude on a stand.
At larger diameters, though, drilling in stages pays off most. Going straight at three millimeters into a thin plastic wall carries a high risk that the tip wanders or that the wall breaks through. So pilot-drill with a smaller diameter and open the hole out in two or three steps. It takes a few minutes longer, but the hole comes out round and on its axis.
For the modeler who fits a finished model into a display base or a diorama, and for anyone who needs a hole larger than those small bits can handle.
Sharp tool, keep out of the reach of children. Clamp the part firmly while drilling, as at larger diameters the tool bites easily and spins the part round.
