An issue of the modeling magazine The Weathering Magazine devoted to pigments. It is a publication, not the pigments themselves.
Responsibility details are not available.
An issue of the modeling magazine The Weathering Magazine given over entirely to a single theme: working with pigments. The series is built so that each volume covers one area of weathering a model in depth and shows it step by step on finished builds, instead of merely listing products. Alongside the recipes, the reader thus also gets a sense of when a given method suits and when it is better to reach for another.
Pigments are fine colored powders with no binder. They are applied dry with a brush, or mixed into a thinner slurry, and serve for what cannot be done with paint alone: dust on fenders, caked mud in the running gear, soot around an exhaust or traces of rust. Yet it is with them that mistakes are made most often, because the difference between a convincing deposit and an overdone model is a matter of a few tenths of a gram and of the right place. A coherent treatment of the subject therefore saves a great many blind attempts.
For modelers who can already build and paint a model and want to move on to the final stage, where the overall impression is decided. It finds a use on ground vehicles, on figures and on dioramas. The extent of the issue and the arrangement of the chapters are given in the publication itself.
The copy alone is supplied. Pigments, paints, tools and models are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
