Fujimi Type 10 with a painted pedestal and a wall illustration is a cute distorted kit of the most modern Japanese tank, completed with a display pedestal and a backdrop for a striking presentation.
Responsibility details are not available.
This distorted kit from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi captures the main battle tank Type 10 of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force in a cute shortened form. The package goes beyond an ordinary kit: according to the name it also holds a painted display pedestal and an illustration of a wall surface, which turn the finished model straight away into a small scene for a display case. The model is not in scale — the proportions are deliberately and playfully distorted.
The Type 10 is the newest main battle tank of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, taken into service after 2010. Compared with its predecessors it went for lower weight and mobility, modular armor and a modern 120 mm gun with an autoloader; it places great emphasis on linking sensors and sharing information between machines. Its compact dimensions allow it to operate even in the broken Japanese interior, which heavier tanks reach only with difficulty.
The build is quick and undemanding; the heart of the project is the presentation. Set the model on the enclosed pedestal and use the wall backdrop as a background — a finished mini diorama arises with no terrain to glue. The tank comes out well in the modern Japanese two-tone camouflage of green and brown, and a fine dust pigment on the running gear will give the scene credibility.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
