US Tank Earth FS30099 is an earthy brown shade for suggesting dusty trouser legs, boots and the transition from the figure into the terrain.
Responsibility details are not available.
An earthy brown tone carrying the number FS30099 of the US Federal Standard ties a figure to the ground it stands on. The transition between boots, trouser legs and terrain is usually the weakest point of a diorama, and this shade can unify it so that the figure belongs in the scene.
Dirt on clothing has a direction: there is most of it low down and it thins out upward. Apply this tone first to the soles and the hem of the trousers, and with every further touch of the brush go higher and lighter. An almost dry brush drawn from the bottom upward works well too, leaving only a hint on the cloth without closing the detail underneath.
For builders of dioramas and scenes who want the figure to really stand in the terrain rather than just be set down on it. It also serves for the brown soil of small details around the figure.
Keep the paint out of the reach of children and work in a well-ventilated space.
