A medium gray of the British pattern from the Italian Lifecolor range, in a bottle with a volume of twenty-two milliliters. The paint is acrylic, thinned with water or with the brand's own thinner, and applied with a brush as well as an airbrush. For the shade the manufacturer gives the number FS 36270 of the American standard, which a number of other manufacturers use under the same name, so the shade is readily interchangeable across brands.
Medium Sea Grey is the undersurface color of the British day fighter scheme introduced in 1941, in which the upper surfaces carried a dark green and a gray. The shade was also used on its own on postwar machines, however, and it is one of the most frequently reached-for British grays of all.
Shake the bottle thoroughly, as the pigment settles to the bottom. For a brush the paint is used practically as it is; for an airbrush thin it to the consistency of milk and apply it in two thin coats. Light grays have the property of bringing out every irregularity of the base, so level and degrease the surface beforehand.
Keep the paint out of the reach of children, ventilate when spraying and protect your airways. Close the bottle carefully after use.
