The green matte shade Lifecolor Verde Scuro Regio Esercito Matt is the dark Italian army green, on which fresh rust and flakes of lifting paint reach their strongest contrast.

Nothing makes rust stand out as much as a rich dark green. The matte shade Verde Scuro from Italian military nomenclature is exactly such a surface: dark enough that even a small rust dot catches the eye at once, and yet colorful enough that the model does not look gloomy.
The most interesting stage of damage is not a scrape but a lifting flake. The paint rises at the edge, forms a thin lip and under it dark metal with corrosion shows through. On a model this is suggested by giving the chipped spot an irregular, ragged outline, dark inside, with a thin line of a shade lighter green along one side of its perimeter playing the role of the lifted edge. That single line does more for believability than dozens of even dots.
The shade is intended for modelers of Italian vehicles and for everyone who wants to build aging on contrast rather than on all-over grime. It pays off on models meant to look used but not wrecked.
Keep out of the reach of children and follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging.
