The dark Soviet olive Soviet Army Dark Olive FS34102 from Lifecolor is the base for vehicles defined by dried mud rather than by dry dust.

Unlike dust, mud does not stay as it landed. Fresh, it is dark, glossy and holds as a continuous mass, but within a few hours it lightens, dulls and starts to crumble. On one machine both phases therefore tend to sit side by side: a light dried crust on the mudguards and a darker damp mass where the sun does not reach. This dark olive shade, whose name refers to the American Federal Standard FS34102, is a rewarding ground for such work, because the difference between the two phases stays well legible over it.
Work in phases, not all at once. First lay the dark olive down as the base of the whole machine, then apply the mass where the mud really arises, and only at the end divide it into dried and damp areas. Leave the dried places light and dull, the damp ones darker and concentrated in the shadows. It is precisely the difference between them that tells the viewer how long ago the machine came out of the field.
For modelers of Eastern vehicles who work with bulky mud and need a dark olive base under it. It also serves in dioramas where a machine is driving into muddy ground.
Keep the paint out of the reach of children, ensure ventilation when spraying and protect your airways and eyes.
