Lifecolor Silver Grey 28 is an acrylic light bluish gray from the group of British shades. On a model it is applied in bands over an already finished light base.
Responsibility details are not available.
A light bluish gray did not appear on British vehicles on its own. It was part of a disruptive pattern in which bands of two further tones were applied over a light sand base to break up the outline of the machine. That is exactly why with this paint it matters at which stage you reach for it.
First the model is unified with a base coat, then it gets the light sand tone over the whole surface and is left to dry thoroughly. Only then are the bands marked out and this gray added, and the darkest of the three components of the pattern comes last. Anyone who reverses the order and starts with the gray will have to cover it over laboriously. The boundary of the bands can be handled with masking tape for a crisp transition, or with soft spraying at the edge if the pattern is to be subtler. Only once the whole pattern is finished do the unifying of the surface, the dust and the weathering follow.
For modelers of British vehicles from the North African theater and for anyone who builds a multi-color scheme step by step and needs a cool counterpart to sand tones. It also suits wherever a light gray without a green cast is needed.
Mix the bottle thoroughly before work, close it well after use and store out of the reach of children.
