Lifecolor Slate 34 is an acrylic dark slate gray from the circle of British shades. In a multicolor pattern its turn comes last.
Responsibility details are not available.
A slate dark gray is the element of the British disruptive pattern that is applied last and gives the whole its contrast. It is precisely this one that breaks up the outline of a vehicle most, and that is why it is handled carefully: the later it comes in the order, the easier it is to keep its quantity in check.
The sequence is set here. The ground, a light sand tone over the whole surface, after it dries the lighter gray element of the pattern and only at the end this darkest tone. It is applied only into narrow bands and areas that are meant to step optically back. If it gets onto the model before the light tones, it then has to be covered over and the pattern loses its cleanness. Once the pattern is finished, the unification of the surface follows and only then dust, mud traces and further weathering. The dark element is usually the most prominent on a finished model, so it pays to lighten it slightly at the end so that it does not seem excessively hard.
For modelers of British vehicles from the North African theater and for anyone building a multicolor pattern in a set order who needs a dark closing tone. It also serves on its own wherever a dark gray without a blue cast is needed.
Stir the bottle well before work, close it well after use and store it out of the reach of children.
